Directly contributing to profitability and company growth through analysis and reporting with front-line insight.

Professional Background: Marketing at a multi-national corporation
Our BI (Business Intelligence) team collaborates with the headquarters in Singapore—specifically the departments responsible for ONE’s revenue and strategy—to conduct research and data analysis. Specifically, as vessel capacity increases, we analyze trends by country, port, and cargo type, as well as identifying growth-potential trade lanes to determine how to optimize cargo space. For example, we research and report on topics such as, “Where are solar panels manufactured, where are they being shipped, and what are the applicable tariffs?” Our analysis utilizes a variety of sources, including both external and internal data, covering both quantitative and qualitative aspects.
Mission
Our mission is to capture market trends through data and analysis, supporting ONE’s global decision-making and swift management judgments. By providing analysis with front-line insight from within the company, we aim to directly contribute to profitability and corporate growth.
Challenges and Solutions
Our team is a new department established alongside the launch of ONE DEJIMA. There is no fixed manual; we are in the midst of creating our workflow from scratch, engaging in daily discussions with our Singapore headquarters on what information to collect and how to analyze it to best serve ONE.

Beyond Expectations
What exceeded my expectations is the incredible speed at which ONE DEJIMA is growing. Our team is also scheduled to bring on more people and further expand the organization.
The Most Memorable Experience
Rather than any single specific event, the environment itself—where I am constantly immersed in a “vast amount of information” through my daily work—is perhaps the most significant experience for me. By engaging with real-time data on global shipping movements and the economic conditions of various countries every day, I feel that my sensitivity to changes in global affairs has increased tremendously.
Background
I have been involved in marketing roles across various environments, both in Japan and overseas. Generally speaking, the definition and scope of “marketing” can vary significantly from one company to another. Throughout my career, I have not limited myself to a single area; instead, I have gained extensive experience across the entire spectrum of marketing activities—from research and analysis to sales support, PR, and branding—while maintaining a holistic overview of the entire business.

Why ONE DEJIMA?
My reason for applying was the appeal of joining a newly established department within a startup environment. Additionally, when I heard President Toyama speak about the company and the business, his intense passion and vision truly resonated with me, which was another major factor.
In my previous roles, I have always prioritized taking the first step when starting new initiatives. “I will be the one to light the first spark.” By taking action this way, people who empathize with the mission gradually appear, and the work begins to take shape. I have always found great fulfillment in that process.
ONE DEJIMA is still a young organization in the stage of building its foundation. I felt that here, I could leverage my experience in both the “0 to 1” and “1 to 10” phases of my career to make a meaningful contribution.
Changes Since Joining
As a future outlook, we have a vision for “regional contribution” where we leverage the expertise gained from our global market research to support local businesses in Nagasaki aiming for overseas expansion. Consequently, I have come to maintain both a global perspective and a local one.
The Uniqueness of ONE DEJIMA
I believe a key characteristic of ONE DEJIMA is its nature as a “Dejima organization”—an entity that remains connected to the main ONE body while operating as an independent unit capable of pursuing new initiatives and challenges. It offers an environment where we can create new value without being restricted by existing frameworks.
Furthermore, I feel that a distinctive feature of ONE DEJIMA is the gathering of international members and talent with diverse backgrounds. The ability to work in a global environment while being based in Nagasaki is certainly one of its major attractions.
Introduction to ONE DEJIMA Culture
It is the fact that we have a diverse group of international members and talent from various backgrounds, all working together while leveraging their respective areas of expertise.

Empowering global business from Nagasaki through “Teamwork” × “Diverse Backgrounds.”
By integrating diverse perspectives, we achieve a level of analytical power as a team that would be impossible for an individual alone, contributing to the growth of both ONE and ONE DEJIMA.
A Message to Future Colleagues
I believe this is a truly exciting place for those who enjoy researching global trends and thrive on taking on challenges in a brand-new environment.

ONE DEJIMA was established in Nagasaki and recently celebrated its first year of operations.
With the support of ONE’s headquarters in Singapore (GHQ), our local partners in Nagasaki, and the dedication of every team member, we have steadily expanded our scope and continue to grow as a vital part of ONE’s global network.
Even within the ONE Group, we are aware that our presence is not yet fully recognized.
To commemorate our first anniversary and increase awareness, we created a company introduction video.
The video showcases how ONE DEJIMA was established, the core operations entrusted to us by GHQ, and the dynamic team driving our daily work—all set against the beautiful backdrop of Nagasaki, a historic gateway to the world.
As a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) hub supporting ONE’s core operations, we are committed to creating greater value together with our colleagues around the world.
Through this video, we hope to share what kind of organization ONE DEJIMA is and the future we envision.
We also hope it will inspire new colleagues to join us in taking on the next challenge.
