This summer, ONE DEJIMA held its annual Internship Program, offering students a valuable opportunity to experience the company\u2019s culture and gain practical insight into the container shipping and KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 Summer Internship Program was divided into two sessions: a 10-day Japanese-based Program in August and a 10-day English-based Program in September, bringing together a total of 20 participants. Half of the interns were international students, creating a truly diverse and global learning environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the program, interns experienced a diverse range of workshops overseen by key divisions, including the Human Resources Division, Data-Driven Enterprise Division, Business Intelligence Division, Product & Network Division, and Agency Management Division. The curriculum included an introduction to the container industry, a simulation workshop on the effects of wind and waves on ships, a Southeast Asia market strategy workshop, and an A3 workshop* that focused on structured problem solving and logical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*A3 Workshop is a methodology used by teams to focus intensively on problem-solving or planning, all documented on a single sheet of A3-sized paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the internship was the Business Plan Competition, held during the final two days. The interns were divided into two teams and tasked with developing a viable new business project plan for ONE DEJIMA. Each team delivered and defended their strategic plan in front of ONE DEJIMA employees. The presentations concluded with Managing Director Kosasa recognizing the outstanding concept of each team’s project plan. The program ended with Managing Director Kosasa presenting the Certificate of Completion to each intern, marking a fitting conclusion to an exciting and inspiring two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
