To encourage our team to &#8220;step outside the box&#8221; and take on new challenges, strengthening interdepartmental collaboration and revitalizing communication is absolutely essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O&amp;C takes on the role of a &#8220;Culture Designer.&#8221; We aim to co-create a culture where ONE DEJIMA\u2019s mission, vision, and core values do not just remain mere words, but are actively practiced by every single employee with a strong sense of personal ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"677\" src=\"https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-13-1024x677.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1603\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-13-1024x677.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-13-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-13-768x508.png 768w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-13.png 1046w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-pink-color\">Searching for ONE DEJIMA\u2019s Origins: Where &#8220;Kameyama Shachu\u2019s Ambition&#8221; Meets &#8220;Dejima\u2019s Hub Function&#8221;<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For O&amp;C&#8217;s first official activity, we conducted a fieldwork trip to &#8220;Kameyama Shachu&#8221; and &#8220;Dejima,&#8221; the historical starting points of innovation in Nagasaki. Guided by expert curators at each location, we were able to gain deep insights into the historical background and the working styles of the people from that era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we toured these sites, it became clear that our ideal organizational vision is deeply connected to these two historical hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the Edo period, Kameyama Shachu helped move history forward. This was made possible because it was a place where diverse individuals from different statuses and backgrounds gathered, united by high &#8220;ambition&#8221; and &#8220;advanced expertise directly linked to practical execution,&#8221; to take on challenges together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-14-1024x676.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1604\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-14-1024x676.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-14-300x198.png 300w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-14-768x507.png 768w, https:\/\/www.one-dejima.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/image-14.png 1050w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, Dejima, despite being a small and restricted outpost connecting Japan to the world, was a dynamic hub generating immense, world-class value (Small Hub, Big Impact).
