<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe round table discussion with international students residing in Nagasaki, in particular, was very insightful. We discussed the difficulties international students face while living in Nagasaki, and they provided us with fresh, student-perspective proposals for improvement. We intend to share these proposals not only internally but also with all the relevant administrative bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here are some comments from the participating interns:<\/p>\n\n\n\n I originally had an interest in the maritime shipping industry and was also considering working in my hometown of Nagasaki Prefecture, which is why I participated in this internship. All online meetings and emails were conducted in English, which made me keenly aware of my own lack of English proficiency. The office seating is based on a free-address system (hot-desking). During the work experience, I sometimes worked right next to an employee, which helped me form a clear image of what it’s like to work here. Having the opportunity to interact with almost all employees over the 10 days made this an extremely fulfilling internship. I plan to utilize the knowledge and experience gained here in my future job search. (N.Y)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Through the 10-day internship, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the maritime shipping industry. We don’t often realize it in our daily lives, but many of the things around us are transported through shipping. I felt that the shipping industry, which transports goods and supports people’s lives, is a very meaningful and appealing job. Furthermore, with the encouragement of remote work and the introduction of a free-address system, I felt that the company has created an environment where all employees can work comfortably. (M.T)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n We also received feedback from other interns indicating that their future vision as a working professional became clearer through working and conversing with our employees.
