ONE DEJIMA Office Officially Completed
In preparation for its full operation beginning in May, the ONE DEJIMA office has reached full completion. The new office is located on the 5th floor of the office tower in the Amu Plaza New Building, right in front of Nagasaki Station.
Stepping into the office, the first thing that catches your eye is a magenta-colored container wall. This wall is built from a recycled part of an actual shipping container, which was repainted in ONE’s corporate color, magenta, and then adorned with the ONE DEJIMA logo.
The floor designs of the two meeting rooms are also inspired by Nagasaki’s history. One features a cherry blossom design as a nod to the cherry blossoms taken from Nagasaki to Europe by Siebold, who worked as a Dutch trading post physician. Meanwhile, the second takes its motif from the famous “Kapitan’s Room,” the living quarters of the Dutch Trading Post Director at Dejima.
Furthermore, a communal desk called the “DEJIMA Terminal Café,” modeled after a ship’s deck, is installed in the center of the office. The entire office operates on a complete free-address system while featuring various measures that promote free and open communication throughout the whole space.
The 5th floor, where the office is located, also provides direct access to the rooftop garden of the Amu Plaza New Building. Employees can step outside to work for a change of pace or visit the shops there to refresh their minds.
