ONE DEJIMA Participated in Metro Bookstore’s “Children’s Day” Special Picture Book Reading Event

On May 5, 2025, in conjunction with Children’s Day, we participated in the ‘Special Picture Book Reading Event’ held at the Metro Bookstore inside Amu Plaza Nagasaki.

At the event, we read aloud the picture book Jean-Pierre Travels the Seven Seas, which ONE helped to produce.

The reading was performed by one of ONE DEJIMA’s employees who is raising children. Drawing on their daily experience of reading picture books at home, they enthusiastically brought the story to life at the event.

The protagonist of the picture book is a cacao bean named “Jean-Pierre.” The story, which follows Jean-Pierre as he travels the world’s seven seas until he is delivered to people, gives children an awareness of the question, “Where and how do the things around us come from?”

As the “Dejima Expo” was also being held concurrently, we heard children say, “I saw the containers in Kamome Hiroba (Seagull Square)!” We were able to witness a precious moment where the world of the picture book connected with the reality of logistics.

This picture book not only provides an opportunity for children to learn about the world of shipping but also serves as an important tool for the children of employees working in the shipping industry to feel closer to their family’s work.

Many of the goods that support our daily lives are delivered from all over the world by containers.

This event provided an opportunity to truly appreciate, once again, the immense role and value of container shipping.

We sincerely thank Metro Bookstore for providing us with this wonderful opportunity.

As a company based in Nagasaki, ONE DEJIMA values its connections with the local community.

We will continue to deepen our exchange with the local community through various opportunities.

1st Anniversary EditionONE DEJIMA Company Introduction Video

ONE DEJIMA was established in Nagasaki and recently celebrated its first year of operations.

With the support of ONE’s headquarters in Singapore (GHQ), our local partners in Nagasaki, and the dedication of every team member, we have steadily expanded our scope and continue to grow as a vital part of ONE’s global network.

Even within the ONE Group, we are aware that our presence is not yet fully recognized.

To commemorate our first anniversary and increase awareness, we created a company introduction video.

The video showcases how ONE DEJIMA was established, the core operations entrusted to us by GHQ, and the dynamic team driving our daily work—all set against the beautiful backdrop of Nagasaki, a historic gateway to the world.

As a Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) hub supporting ONE’s core operations, we are committed to creating greater value together with our colleagues around the world.

Through this video, we hope to share what kind of organization ONE DEJIMA is and the future we envision.

We also hope it will inspire new colleagues to join us in taking on the next challenge.
